I’m a lifelong artist with a background in graphic design and a love for ceramics. My passion for creativity has spanned a variety of mediums and has aligned within my work as a potter, artist, and art educator. I’ve enjoyed the diverse connections that I developed across New York State with art centers, museums, community centers, colleges, and the public. Having recently moved to Sarasota, I’m excited for new opportunities to cultivate creativity in our community.

I started making pottery during an artist residency at Salem Art Works in 2015. At the time, my work focused on illustration, design, and screen printing, but after exchanging demonstrations with a resident potter, I spent the rest of my residency at the potter’s wheel. This residency culminated with a five day wood firing, a truckload of pottery, and a passion for transforming clay into one of a kind wares.

Following a series of workshops at community art centers, I became a studio assistant at the Smithy Clay Studio in Cooperstown, NY. This was promptly followed by the start of a two year apprenticeship at the Clinton Pottery in Clinton, NY with mentorship from the masterful English potter, Jonathan Woodward.
